Contact Image Sensor (CIS) Technology
CIS technology is often used for accurate imaging. When scanning an object using a traditional Charge Coupled Device (CCD) linear image sensor, an optical lens is required, which can cause image distortions such as pincushion distortion, especially when scanning larger documents. In contrast, scanning using Contact Image Sensor (CIS) technology produces imaging without optical distortion.
Contact Image Sensor (CIS) is an image sensor used in flatbed scanners that is in almost direct contact with the object being scanned. Charge Coupled Device (CCD) is another type of sensor often used in scanners that uses mirrors to reflect light onto a fixed sensor. Scanners using CIS are much smaller than scanners using CCD, typically consume one-tenth the power, and are particularly well suited for low-power and portable applications, and are often powered via USB.
AOS Optics provides professional technical services to customize sensors for you according to your usage requirements, and can be modified according to your parameter requirements until it matches your system software.
CIS Image Sensors are widely used because of their advantages. The main application areas are such as the application of ultrasonic level meters, the application of automatic vacuum packaging machines, and industrial applications in pressure sensors. It is also commonly used in financial fields such as money counting machines, currency exchange machines, banknote identification instruments, and lottery identifiers, etc.
