The reflection in the penta prism is not caused by total internal reflection. Since the light beam enters at less than the critical angle, the two reflecting surfaces are coated with reflective materials to create a mirror reflection effect, and the two transmitting surfaces are coated with anti-reflective coating to reduce reflection. The fifth surface of the penta prism is not used optically.
The 90° deflection angle of the penta prism is independent of any rotation of the prism around an axis parallel to the intersection of the two reflecting surfaces. The movement of the prism will not affect the right angle of light reflection.
AOS can provide aluminum coating + black paint protection for the reflecting surface, single-layer MgF2 anti-reflection coating on the incident and exit surfaces, and can also be customized according to customer requirements.
